That tech said that the compressor had been over heated because of the actions of the first technician. The AC still didn't work, so I had to wait a few more days for a third technician supplied by AHS. This tech said that the compressor needed to be replaced. My air conditioner went out on June 14, 2017. I called AHS and as of today, September 09, 2017, it has been 12 weeks & 1 day since I notified AHS.

They refuse to honor warranty, whose directions I clearly followed in my search for repairs. Called and spoke to manager today in lengthy conversation and she had little to no notes on my previous phone calls with them, and no notation from the second opinion provider on the issue. She used her lack of records as a basis to continue to deny my claim. The Faught lawsuit suspected that American Home Shield engaged in a pattern and practice of failing to accomplish its contractual responsibilities to its customers. AHS did not breach the Armstrongs' employment agreements.

AHS assigned the work back to AirNow and they refused to return my calls or to return to finish the work. AHS assigned the work to Greenway at least one more time but it kept ending up back with AirNow. Judith, with AHS, finally told me that AirNow simply did not want to do the work. In the meantime, I asked AHS if my wood floors were covered and I was told they were not covered. I understood and didn’t pursue that again.
As part of the settlement, American Home Shield agreed to set up a review desk to consider submissions from class members who had their claim denied during the class period. If you have had problems with this company, we ask that you reach out to us immediately and let us know your story. If it turns out that this is, in fact, a scam, or a rip-off, or anything of the sort, we will be seeking legal action on your behalf. It is quite possible that a strong class action defense can set this “company” straight. In the meantime, pay your monthly membership.

We could have bought and paid for a new unit with the money we paid out by now. All the other claims resubmitted are also likely to be paid this time because of the negotiated penalty provisions. I had two seperate contractors come out and both said it needed to be replaced. My wife has lupus and I had no choice but to get it done as it was hot outside. I called American Home Shield and was denied the ability to even file a claim. But the Funny part is I called AHS several times several days and explained them everything what happened but was never solved.
It seems they just keep pushing repairs back until your insurance is up or you give up, take care of it yourself, and then they won't reimburse you. Over two months now with refrigerant leaking in my house, literally dozens of calls, hours of time on hold, and nothing has actually been done other than a little refrigerant added just to leak back out. They charged me for a service fee for refrigerator company that never came into the house.
Can I sue American Home Shield?
I think it's terrible -- but that's just me. Class action lawsuits listed in the news not just with American Home Shield but with other large corporations. Class action lawsuits are lawsuits where hundreds or thousands of consumers or customers all have the same complaint against a company so they all get represented through one lawsuit rather than each filing multiple lawsuits. As part of the agreement, AHS decided to set up a review desk to reflect on claims from settlement class members whose claims were declined during the class period.
My wife and I purchased our home in Sept of 2007 it was our first home. We were so excited and when we saw that the home had a low voltage system for the lights we were concerned but both AHS and the Realtor reassured us that it was covered and if there was problems just to call. Of course two months after purchasing the house all the lights in house were stuck on. We called AHS and it took seven days because they were sending an electrician from Illinois or Ohio to service our need. When the man got to our home all he did was bang on the box in the basement for an hour and talk to some one on the phone for 2 hours and then told us he could not fix it. The problem was one of the switches was stuck.
You may be wondering how can you possibly be a class action lawsuit plaintiff if you live in New York City?
Replacement of the unit with the problem in question, repeated flooding repair credit for three months of no repair and release of contract with no penalty. Called AHS again different company different Diagnostic, the unit was too small which I know not to be true. It was professionally installed and measured the unit by the home sq feet. They did not fix the problem 4 months later same problem with the ac unit. Your clients should know AHS will not replace items that clearly need replacing.
I then asked to speak with a senior manager that can resolve these issue. She said a manager is not available to talk to me. She has to submit a ticket and "' will contact me after 24 hours, of course to this day no one has contacted me.
But now that this issue is taking months and it is still not resolved, my floors are almost unsafe to walk across. I provided AirNow with my photos taken just a few days earlier. They seemed to appreciate that and didn’t even look under the house. I was told AirNow submitted the paperwork and photos to AHS and was waiting for a reply.

They sent two different electricians to repair; neither did. I still do not have the outlet working after paying for the $75.00 fee. Warranty claim for a pool heater was denied.
One example would be a broken AC unit – nobody wants to go weeks or months without air conditioning, and if you’ve got kids or pets, it can even be dangerous. Something like plumbing or toilets needs to be fixed immediately and not months after you report it. This is one of the most common things people allege in their BBB reviews about the company.
